From the Favorite Covers series: Check out the masterful visual design of Aquaman #44 (1969) by DC Comics legend Nick Cardy. The visual story travels from the dock down to Aquaman’s panicked face to the word balloons that put this story into perspective.
It’s a sharp, smart layout that makes perfect use of a nighttime color palatte. Around this time, Nick Cardy was creating some amazing covers for DC, but this stands as one of my all-time favorites.
